The same conversation, in two languages Whoever writes in English is read in Portuguese.

  1. You write

In your language, your way: speech, /me and /do.

  2. The server translates

Instantly, for everyone within voice range.

  3. Everyone reads in theirs

Character names, colors and formatting stay intact.

Game chat

Many languages, translated per recipient and only for those within range.

Menus and interfaces

The whole game follows the chosen language, and scripts recognize the language of whoever uses them.

Forum

30+ languages, with the interface and posts translated automatically.

911 and terminals

The AI operator and the agencies’ tablets understand many languages.

The writer always sees their own original text. And because speech has range, the translation only reaches those who are actually listening.

Someone in front of you says:

“Good evening, officer. May I see your badge?”

Reading in:

Same line, many readings.

Voice range

  • Whisper · 0.8 m
  • Low voice · 3 m
  • Normal speech · 20 m

A phone that depends on the city

A SIM with PIN and PUK, a carrier and plans, a number with an area code and a network of towers covering Los Santos and Blaine County. No SIM or no signal means no call: communication is part of the logistics too.

One world. Many languages. One shared story.

The focus

The story comes first.

Grand Stories is a heavy text roleplay server. Everything your character does has to exist in the narrative: every gesture is described, every line of speech has a range, and every choice has consequences.

There is no shortcut between what you want and what your story allows. The server does not hand out finished endings: it provides a consistent world — with law, economy, communication and risk — so that characters build the rest.

01

Text above all

Actions and speech are written. /me describes, /do sets the scene and your voice has physical range. Imagination is the engine; the interface just keeps up.

02

A world that remembers

Documents, accounts, phones and records persist. What you do today shows up tomorrow: in a file, in a bank account, in an investigation.

03

Real consequences

Crimes are investigated, sentences are served, characters grow and can meet definitive endings through narrative decisions.

The chain

Everything moves in a chain.

A person becomes a character. The character gets resources. Resources circulate. Value becomes power. Power meets the law. Each link depends on the one before and feeds the next — that continuity is what makes the city a world instead of a backdrop.

Origin

Everyone starts from a file: name, appearance, documents and a past written by you. The city knows you by what is on paper — and expects the paper and the story to agree.

  • Documents
  • Appearance

In practice

One action. Two sides.

See how a single shipment crosses the server: on one side, those who move it; on the other, those who try to follow it.

The route

  1. ContractA contact offers the job: what to fetch and where.
  2. PickupLocate the target and retrieve it without drawing attention.
  3. TransportCross the city. Every hit to the vehicle lowers what it is worth.
  4. TransformationDismantle, combine, convert: the material becomes something else.
  5. PaymentThe value lands in an account — and now exists for anyone investigating.

The law

  1. ReportA witness, an alarm, a phone call.
  2. InvestigationRecords, plates, accounts and conversations become leads.
  3. WarrantOnly with probable cause and a judge’s signature.
  4. ArrestDetention, booking and a sentence set by law.
  5. TrialDefense, prosecution and a decision that goes on record.
Every route leaves a trace. Every trace leads to someone.
Los Santos, end of day

Custom systems

Built from the inside, for those who write.

Slow pace, deep investigations and realistic civilian life, with no out-of-character (OOC) talk.

FIB federal terminal

Each department gets a purpose-built tablet. The FIB’s brings together the registry of citizens and vehicles, facial recognition and the criminal network. LSSD and LAPD come next.

911 with artificial intelligence

An AI answers 911, understands the caller’s language and logs the report; dispatch confirms that units are on their way.

Law & Order

The law has weight, and it is written down.

San Andreas has its own Constitution and Penal Code, open to players, officers and lawyers — with a Traffic Code on the way. Every crime has a class, a fixed penalty and a clear limit. Nobody has to guess what applies.

Infraction

No jail. Fine up to $1,000.

Misdemeanor

Detention of up to 1 hour.

Felony

Up to 24 hours in jail and a fine of up to $10,000.

Financial crimes

Fines from $10,000, up to $1,000,000 through a judicial process and staff review.

Life imprisonment

Life imprisonment is only possible after a full judicial trial. Outside it, the maximum for a felony remains 24 hours.

Constitution

The State, rights, powers and the map of San Andreas — county by county.

Penal Code

Crimes classified by title, with fixed penalties and quick search.

Traffic Code

Rules of the road, equipment and licensing — under construction.

Warrants and courts

Every warrant goes through a judge; every accusation through a trial.

Character

You are what you practice.

Skills grow with use: those who drive a lot drive better, those who train shooting hit more, those who run gain stamina. The character grows in step with the story.

Endings that matter

A character can end. When it happens by narrative decision and with criteria, the ending carries weight — and the player starts over with a new story, without erasing what the city remembers.

Frequently asked questions

What is heavy text roleplay?

It is a style where the narrative is written: actions, speech and reactions are described in text, and what was not written did not happen. The focus is on story and interpretation, not on reflexes or mechanics.

Do I need to speak English?

No. The chat translates automatically between many languages, per recipient. Write in the language you are most comfortable with.

How does the economy work?

There is a legal economy and a clandestine one. Work and risk generate money in a bank account, items combine and circulate, and the condition of each vehicle or cargo changes its final value. Everything that circulates leaves a record.

What happens if my character is arrested?

They serve the time set by law: up to 1 hour for a misdemeanor and up to 24 hours for a felony. Life imprisonment only exists after a full judicial trial.

Can my character die for good?

Yes, by narrative decision and with criteria. It is called a CK (character kill): an ending with weight that lets you start over with a new story.

How do I join?

Join the Discord, read the rules and connect to the server at its official address. Then just create your character.
